Worldcoin, a digital identification platform and cryptocurrency project, announced that it has partnered with Web3 infrastructure platform Alchemy to launch its new blockchain World Chain.
It is a platform designed to deliver real-world benefit to the global community, focusing on the new blockchain, decentralized finance (DeFi) and digital identity use cases.
In the announcement of the two projects, it was stated that Worldcoin will use Alchemy’s Web3 infrastructure for proven reliability and community-driven growth.
World Chain, a blockchain for people
In April this year, World Coin announced the launch of World Chain, stating that it would be a blockchain for people. The platform is built on Optimism’s OP Stack and integrates with other networks on Ethereum, Coinbase, and Superchain.
Worldcoin stated in April that World Chain’s proof-of-person technology would be optimized for humans and that the identity verification system would deter bots. Therefore, verified users would have priority when it comes to block space and gas allocation.
With the project, which prioritizes authenticated people, developers will be able to reach millions of real people with applications that provide real-world benefits and improve daily life.
The project targets 10 million World App users
The partnership with Alchemy allows World Chain to be launched at scale, with the capacity to reach more than 10 million users on World App users, the firms said.
According to today’s announcement, World Chain developers will leverage Alchemy’s solution to access data APIs, indexing solutions, and other important tools to power applications for daily use around the world.
The tools include account abstraction infrastructure, which is vital to the safety and security of personal storage wallets.
“We are excited to partner with Worldcoin to deliver the underlying infrastructure for World Chain and drive developer growth,” said Noam Hurwitz, engineering lead at Alchemy. “With over six years of proven experience, providing guaranteed uptime for large web2 and web3 businesses, Alchemy is uniquely positioned to support more than 10 million World App users at launch,” he added.
Worldcoin said it will release a developer preview for World Chain soon. This will allow projects to start being built on the blockchain before the chain’s full launch towards the end of the year.
