Supra, an all-in-one Layer 1 blockchain platform offering oracle data feeds and verifiable randomness to over 80 blockchains, will present its Moonshot consensus mechanism at the upcoming DSN 2024 Conference.
According to a press release obtained by crypto.news, the Supra team will present the Moonshot whitepaper, explaining the consensus mechanism and showing how it sets a new standard for the blockchain industry. In the presentation, Moonshot will be compared with Jolteon, the leading decentralized consensus algorithm known for its high performance.
In November 2023, Microsoft’s IVy Verifier officially verified Moonshot. The system’s algorithms are designed to prevent forks as long as less than a third of its network consists of malicious validators.
Supra rose to prominence in the blockchain industry with its Distributed Oracle Agreement (DORA), which integrates real-world data into blockchain systems. It aims to improve blockchain capabilities by addressing Byzantine errors and data integrity issues that are vital for smart contracts in Web3 environments.
Byzantine fault tolerance measures the system’s ability to continue operating even if one or more components fail.
Moonshot achieved an impressive transaction speed of 530,000 transactions per second across 125 globally distributed nodes. The mechanism also outperformed many other consensus mechanisms on the market, exhibiting an optimistic precision of 500 milliseconds and full block precision within 1.5 to 2 seconds.
The DSN 2024 conference will be held from 24 to 27 June at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia.
About the above
Supra is a powerful platform designed to serve as a comprehensive solution for blockchain development. It combines oracles, bridges, automation, and randomness into a robust Layer-1 with MultiVM compatibility. This means Supra provides a solid foundation for building and deploying decentralized applications, supporting multiple virtual machines, and providing flexibility and scalability for developers.
It also provides developers with tools to build advanced decentralized applications (dApps) and offers Oracle price feeds across multiple blockchains and verifiable randomness services with Layer 1 security.
Supra further innovates with its newly introduced DAG-based protocol, Sailfish. Sailfish aims to improve latency performance and is expected to achieve significant performance improvements when combined with the Moonshot consensus algorithm.
