Mark Cuban Believes Cryptocurrency Will Play a Decisive Role in the 2024 Presidential Election
Billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban has emphasized the important role cryptocurrency will play in the upcoming US presidential race, focusing specifically on President Joe Biden’s loyalty to Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Gary Gensler.
Cuban expressed doubts about whether President Biden or former President Donald Trump truly understand cryptocurrency, despite Trump’s push for non-fungible tokens (NFTs) as a fundraising tool. Still, Cuban believes the stance on cryptocurrency could make a significant difference between the two candidates in the November 2024 presidential election.
“I have said many times that Biden must choose between Gensler and crypto voters or it could cost him the White House,” Cuban said on social media platform X on Saturday. He also commented, “I wouldn’t take anything for granted about who will be appointed.”
Cuban has previously criticized Gensler, stating that the SEC has failed to protect investors from fraud while also making it “nearly impossible” for cryptocurrency firms to operate. “The voices of crypto voters will be heard in this election,” Cuban said on May 10.
