KickStreaming’s X Account Hacked By Crypto Scammers

KickStreaming’s account on X was hacked and used to distribute Solana-based scam tokens.

On December 4, the online streaming platform’s official X account directed users to suspicious wallet address links for fraudulent followers. The post claimed that ‘Kick Token’ will likely provide solutions for the blockchain community and individual creators.

Bijan Tehrani, co-founder of KickStreaming, immediately responded to the issue in X. There, he clarified that the publicly shared Kick token is neither a real token nor that the platform plans to issue any tokens. The company encouraged users to report these fraudulent posts as it attempts to regain control of their account.

Kick does not have a crypto token and has no plans to do so. Do not trust any article that claims otherwise. It’s a scam

Fraud tokens are on the rise

Cybercriminals often use celebrity social media account hacks to promote their fake tokens and scams based on the trust and authority brought by legitimate accounts. In the crypto industry, such attacks are particularly devastating because users often rely on platforms and influencers to obtain information.

One of the most recent cases was the hack of account X related to Philip Bankss, the artist behind Chill Guy. Unauthorized users broke into his accounts and began using them to promote his namesake meme coin, claiming to have licensed intellectual property and artwork for the project. He publicly condemned the scam, stating that he neither supported nor allowed them to use his work in the crypto space.

Solana (SOL) blockchain, known for its fast transactions with low fees, has also become a constant target of many scammers. Its technical features have been weaponized by fraudsters for their own benefit. Recently, scammers manipulated Solana’s “Persistent Delegate” extension, which aims to restore accidentally burned tokens. As a result, this left many victims with zero balances for approved exchanges.
