Helio expands Shopify plugin with Solana Pay for diverse crypto transactions

Helio announced an update to its Solana Pay plugin for Shopify that expands the scope of accepted cryptocurrencies and introduces new merchant-centric features like NFT airdrops and automatic conversion to fiat currency.

The upgrade, announced Thursday, leverages the speed and security of blockchain to improve the e-commerce payment process.

With a 0.75% transaction fee, the Helio plugin appears to be a more economical option compared to typical credit card fees ranging from 1.5% to 3.5%.

The plugin now supports a wide range of cryptocurrencies, including PayPal’s PYUSD and various memecoins, as well as leading cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ether.

Traders have the added benefit of using Jupiter for automatic conversion of received cryptocurrencies into stablecoins in order to reduce the risks associated with price volatility.

The plugin allows direct conversion between cryptocurrencies and fiat currencies, simplifying transactions for both traders and customers.
