Drift announces Season 2 airdrop for May 2025

Solana-based on-chain trading platform Drift plans to offer its Season 2 airdrop in May 2025.

The Drift team announced the upcoming FUEL airdrop via a post on X, and it comes on the heels of several major achievements for the platform in 2024. Drift launched its native token DRIFT (DRIFT) in May, while FUEL is a rewards program belonging to the Drift protocol. It was announced in July 2024.

The program marks the 2nd season airdrop for DRIFT and will benefit all users on the decentralized exchange platform. Drift says FUEL will help align incentives as well as drive growth for the protocol.

This year’s top goals include turning Drift into a Super Protocol, focusing on borrowing and lending, derivatives, prediction markets, automated market making and asset management.

Drift has gained significant traction among real-world asset integrations, and Ondo support was a notable improvement.

The platform also added USDe, PayPal USD and Sky’s USDS stablecoins and introduced liquid staking. Drift Earn has also leveraged vaults with structured products designed for trading and return strategies that bring millions of dollars of total value locked into the protocol.

Crypto airdrops have become a hot trend once again in 2024, with some of the largest token distributions seeing early users gaining huge donations.

The top three airdrops last year came from Hyperliquid, Starknet and Pudgy Penguins. Open Network-based and win-win game Notcoin and Solana DEX protocol Jupiter also dominated the market with their respective airdrops.

In many cases, users earn rewards by connecting assets to layer 2 networks, using protocol features, and participating in protocol governance.

For 2025, some of the best airdrops crypto enthusiasts in the Solana (SOL) ecosystem might be wondering about are Jupiter round 2, Solayer, Sanctum season 2, Sonic SVM, and DeBridge S2. There are also expectations for airdrops of Berachain, Karak Network, Linea, Babylon, and Hyperliquid S2, among others.
