Changpeng “CZ” Zhao recently shared his thoughts on the use of on-chain AI tagging and its potential benefits for the crypto industry in a post on X.
On November 27, the former Binance CEO stated that AI tagging could be well-suited for on-chain use as it could help speed up the crypto payment process and eliminate unnecessary bias.
“AI tagging (or AI data in general) is well-suited to be done on-chain. “Take advantage of globally low-cost workforce without geographic bias, (micro)pay them instantly with cryptocurrency,” CZ said, adding that Binance solution BNB (BNB) Greenfield already has AI data integration capability.
“More tools still need to be developed. Let’s build them,” he continues.

In a separate post, CZ responded to Zignaly Co-Founder Abdul Rafay Gadit’s question about recommended reading on artificial intelligence and blockchain. CZ acknowledged that there is little literature on the subject, given its relative newness.
“It’s so new that there isn’t a lot of literature. “I’m trying to learn by talking to founders and developers in this space,” CZ said.
Over the past year, many AI-powered innovations have emerged in the crypto space. One notable example is Truth Terminal, an AI bot known for its obsession with internet memes. It inspired the creation of viral meme coins such as GOAT and FARTCOIN. The market values of both coins rose to hundreds of millions in a short time.
Another example is Flavia, an AI-operated token based on an artificial internet persona created by Trevor McFedries, co-founder and CEO of tech company Brud.
In terms of blockchain integration, Injective introduced a new software development kit called iAgent. This tool allows users to create on-chain AI agents capable of natural language processing for payments and transactions, as well as automate interactions with databases, APIs, and applications.
In his first public interview after being released from prison, CZ expressed his intention to use his time as a free man to explore emerging innovations in the crypto space, especially artificial intelligence.
