Chromia launches incentivized testnet with 250,000 CHR reward pool

Layer 1 relational blockchain platform Chromia has launched an incentivized testnet that will offer a reward pool of 250,000 CHR tokens.

Users and developers will test Chromia’s capabilities in many areas, including gaming, real-world assets (RWAs), digital collectibles, and sports.

Testnet users can interact with decentralized applications (dApps) and Chromia’s official wallet and earn native CHR tokens ahead of the platform’s mainnet launch.

According to the press release, the testing program will include three different initiatives, each of which comes with a private network running on the mainnet candidate version of Chromia.

“Ahead of the mainnet release, this provides an opportunity to demonstrate the robustness and reliability of our technology, while also giving our loyal community the chance to contribute to shaping the future of the Chromia ecosystem,” said Alex Mizrahi, co-founder of Chromia. he said in a statement.

Chromia testnet initiatives

Chromia’s first two testnet initiatives are HackNet, ProjectNet, and QuestNet.

Hacknet provides an opportunity for coders and other technically minded users. These users will help evaluate Chromia’s underlying software and provide feedback on edge cases. This program will run for the next two weeks and offer rewards of up to CHR 100,000.

The team expected HackNet to launch on June 28, coinciding with the end of the third-party audit for Trail of Bits. This will help Chromia evaluate feedback from the community and create a timeline for mainnet launch.

ProjectNet, on the other hand, is for developers building on Chromia with Rell. Chromia will accept applications from developers for decentralized applications (dApps) until July 26, 2024. The prize pool of this category is 50,000 CHR and the prize will be shared among the top 3 projects.

Launched on June 18, QuestNet aims to encourage casual users.

The startup will focus on offering a user-friendly dashboard where users can seamlessly interact with dApps and networking features like Chromia Vault.
