Cardano-Ripple collaboration? Hoskinson praises Ripple CTO in recent remarks

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson recently praised Ripple CTO David Schwartz, praising his leadership and Ripple’s resilience in the face of ongoing challenges.

During a recent livestream, Hoskinson described Schwartz as ‘super smart’ and ‘really passionate’ and emphasized his resilience despite Ripple’s ongoing legal battle with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission.

“Dave Schwartz is a great guy. He’s a great guy. It’s fun to be at meetings with him and I love hanging out with him,” Hoskion said.

He highlighted how Ripple remained determined and continued to move forward even after facing lawsuits, delistings, and regulatory hurdles.

Ripple has been embroiled in a legal battle with the SEC since December 2020, when the regulator accused the company of engaging in an unregistered securities offering by selling XRP (XRP) tokens.

While Ripple scored a partial victory in July 2023 when a federal judge ruled that XRP is not a security when sold on public exchanges, the case is ongoing as appeals and unresolved penalties still exist.

But Hoskinson remains optimistic about Ripple’s future, noting that the company remains steadfast despite being ostracized, delisted, sued, and forced to fight even after legal victories.

“They are still here. They are still resilient. And because of this, they have a bright future.”

Hoskinson’s recent stance against Ripple has been publicly marked apology In a statement to the XRP community on November 10, he signaled a turning point in his relationship with Ripple and its advocates.

Hoskinson confirmed that he would meet with Schwartz, along with Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse, to discuss potential synergies between the two ecosystems, increasing speculation about a potential collaboration.

Later, in an interview on December 8, Cardano’s founder revealed that he was exploring potential collaboration opportunities between the Cardano and XRP ecosystems, with the conversation focusing on Cardano’s privacy-focused sidechain Midnight and smart contract toolkit Marlowe.

Hoskinson hopes to ‘incorporate XRP into the Midnight story’ and believes the cryptocurrency is a better fit for Marlowe than ADA, the native token of the Cardano blockchain.

He also floated the idea of integrating Ripple’s upcoming RLUSD stablecoin into the Cardano blockchain.
