(Reuters) – The price of Bitcoin fell on Saturday after U.S. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump told a crowd of cryptocurrency enthusiasts that Bitcoin would go to the moon and that he wanted the United States to lead the way.
Trump was speaking at the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville, Tennessee, as part of a broader effort by Republicans to influence cryptocurrency holders ahead of the Nov. 5 election.
Bitcoin was last seen trading at $66,814, down 0.96%.
